	3 Mode Floppy Driver Ver 1.3 Installation Guide for Windows 95/98/ME
 

  	There is no hardware detection for 3 mode drive during the Windows 95/98 setup. 
  	If you are in the environment of Japanese Windows 98, you can install 3-mode driver 
	with "Device Manager" or "Add New Hardware" applet in Control Panel. 
  	Without installing 3-mode driver, the functionality of the floppy disk controller should
  	be exactly the same with U.S. version.

	1. Feature :

		  (2) How to Get The Version Number:
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from "Start" button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "System" from "Control Panel".
   			(c) Select "Device Manager" tab from System Properties dialog box.
   			(d) Double click "floppy disk controllers" if floppy disk controllers branch is
       			     not expanded.
       			(e) User will see the version number of the 3 mode floppy driver.
      					
     
	2. Installation :
  		(1) Using Device Manager
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from "Start" button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "System" from "Control Panel".
   			(c) Select "Device Manager" tab from System Properties dialog box.
   			(d) Double click "floppy disk controllers" if floppy disk controllers branch is
       			     not expanded.
   			(e) The default setting is "Standard Floppy Disk Controller". Double click 
       			     "Standard Floppy Disk Controller". The dialog box appears to display the
       			     properties of driver for the current floppy disk controller. 
   			(f) Select the "Driver" tab of the property sheet.
   			(g) Click "Change Driver" button. This will display the compatible devices. 
   			(h) Select the "Show the list of all drivers",then press the "Next".
   			(i) Click "Have Disk" button and insert OEM supplied installation disk.
  			(j) Select the I/O type of your PC, the wizard will install the 3-mode driver.

  		(2) Using Add New Hardware:
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from Start button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "Add New Hardware" from Control Panel.
   			(c) Select "No" for "Search for your new hardware" during the process of Add New
       			     Hardware Wizard. 
   			(d) Select the "Floppy disk controller" in the dialog box. The dialog box will 
       			     list manufactures and 3 mode drivers supported by Windows 98.
   			(e) Use "Have Disk" button and OEM supplied floppy disk to install 3 mode driver.

  		However, if you are in the environment of Windows 95, you can only use "Add New 
		Hardware" to install the 3-mode driver.
  		After installing the 3-mode driver, the system will automatically change the I/O
		mode of your PC. You can insert both the 3-mode format floppy disk or IBM compatible
		format floppy disk into the floppy drive. The system will automatically read it.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
