A) Install NDIS 3.1 driver to the Windows 95
    The drivers named GFCPCI.SYS contained in the directory
    WIN95.


    NDIS Driver Installation on Windows 95
    --------------------------------------
    1. Plug GFC2206 adapter into one of the Master PCI slots of 
       your PCI platform.
    2. Turn power on then boot from Windows 95.
    3. Windows 95 will find and bind the RTL8139 driver supported by
       itself, then configure your network environment.
    4. The system restart automatically.
    5. Windows 95 will prompt with PCI Ethernet Controller in New Hardware Found
       dialog box.
    6. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" from New
       Hardware Found dialog box, then click OK button.
    7. Insert the Generic Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.
    8. Enter the driver pathname, i.e. A:\ (or B:\), then click the OK
       button in the Install from Disk dialog box.
    9. Follow screen instructions to complete the process.
   10. Restart your computer.



B) Configure NDIS 3.1 driver to the Windows 95

    1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group.
    2. Click the "Control Panel" icon in My Computer window.
    3. Click the "Network" icon in the Control Panel window.
    4. Select "Adapter" item from Network Component Type dialog box,
       then click the "Properties..." button.
    5. Click "Advanced" button in Properties for GFC2206 PCI Ethernet
       Adapter dialog box.
    6. Here, you can set the following property:

       Link Speed/Duplex Mode: <NDIS3 driver>
       for GFC2206 adapter      ; Default is AutoSense
                      100BaseTx
                      100BaseTx Full_Duplex
                      10BaseT
                      10BaseT Full_Duplex
                      AutoSense

    7. Follow screen instructions to complete the process.

    8. Restart your computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
