1) Hardware Recommend
   * The Pentinum II 266 MHz CPU (or Pentinum 200 MHz CPU) and 32 MB Ram are recommended to
     keep the sound quaility.

2) System Requirements
   * This package could be only installed after VIA VT82C686A.
   * DOS 6.22

3) Distribution Package Contents  
     This distribution floppy is compressed by auto uncompressing format. You 
   should uncompress it first by execute it directly.
 
   The uncompressed package includes the following files listed below :

ÀÄÄÄVIAMIX
       VIAMIX.EXE              This bin is executed at Windows to setup Mixer Panel in order
                               to Test SNR, THD+N...for WHQL Testing                        
       VIAMIX.INI              The Mixer Setting Parameter File.
       VIAWDM.INI              Same as VIAMIX.INI, but it is for WDM Driver using.
                               (it must rename to VIAMIX.INI when it is used.)

4) Package Version Identify
     You could check this distribution version and release date by using 
   the DATE\TIME displayed by using dir/p command, e.g :
    
        VIAPTST    EXE        192204  05-10-99  1:02a 

     The time column is 1:00a which means the package distribution version
   is 1.02 and is released on the May 10 '99.


5) Manufacture Note about VIA SWFM ROM/TSR
   If your product doesn't include our VIA SWFM ROM into your BIOS, please copy
   our SWFM TSR program into the "DOS" directory located at your Production User 
   CD/Disk. This TSR program is named as "VIAFMTSR.COM" and located at the "VIAFM" 
   directory of your Fac Release file. Our DOS Install program will install this 
   SWFM TSR into Autoexec.bat in order to let User can hear the music from Legacy 
   Game.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
