Windows 98SE driver installation instruction

For Windows 98SE only: Windows ME, 2000, and XP do not need or use this driver.
1. Download the driver from www.buslink.com and extract the driver.
    Double click on setup.exe to start the driver installation program.
    Follow the on screen instructions.
2. Plug in the AC adapter into the AC power receptacle and plug the power jack end
    into the back of the drive. The power should come on and the power light should turn on.
3. Connect USB cable to the drive and USB Hi-Speed port on your computer.
    Windows will start searching for driver.
4. If Windows does not locate the driver, the Add New Hardware Wizard will pop up.
5. Click on NEXT to search for best driver. Select Specify a location and
    type in the path to where you have extracted the drivers.
6. If Windows ask you to reboot, click on yes to reboot.
7. The drive is ready for use.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
