This driver is ONLY for the 3Com 3CM3BM1556B internal miniPCI modem.

Installation Instructions:

This procedure will assist you with extracting the driver files and locating the installation instructions. Download the self-extracting
ZIP file to your Windows Desktop. Execute the ZIP file that you downloaded by double clicking on its icon. The WinZip
Self-Extractor dialog box will prompt for an Unzip to Folder name. Clear out the box and enter C:\DRIVERS\COMMS. Do not
enter any quotation marks; enter only the text as shown. Leave the check mark against Overwrite Files Without Prompting and
then click the Unzip button. Click on the OK button 
after all files have extracted then click on CLOSE.

Open your Windows File Explorer by RIGHT clicking once on the Windows START button and selecting EXPLORE. Navigate to the
folder C:\DRIVERS\COMMS\HTML. Select your preferred language by double clicking on the folder, for example ENGLISH. Double
click on the file entitled INDEX. The User Manual for the modem will be displayed in a standard web page format. Follow the
instructions for installing the drivers.

Any references made to a CD during driver installation should be ignored, and instead you should direct the operating system to
the C:\DRIVERS\COMMS\DRIVERS\xx folder, where xx is the appropriate folder name for the operating system that you are
installing the drivers on.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
