USB tablets support hot-plugging and can be connected while your computer is turned on. If you have a serial tablet, turn off your computer before connecting the tablet. If your computer does not have an available port, you will need to remove an existing device or add an additional port before installing the software. If you are installing a serial tablet, your serial port must be properly configured. Some computers have a built-in modem and the external serial port may be disabled or configured with the same serial port address as the modem. If your serial tablet does not communicate properly after installing the hardware and software, check your serial port to verify that it is properly configured. See the troubleshooting section in your user's manual for more information. Before continuing close all open applications.
