              1. Introduction
                 ------------

     This section presents the software installation procedures for the
 EtherSerial PC Card.
     These procedures must be performed before you use the PC Card for the
first time.

     The  EtherSerial PC Card Software diskette
contains files and is structured especially to support Windows 2000 Plug & Play
installation.



              2. Install
                 -------

     To install the  EtherSerial PC Card in the
Windows 2000 operating system :

     2.1.  Insert the  EtherSerial PC Card Adapter
           into the PC Card slot.
           - Windows finds the  EtherSerial PC Card Adapter and
             the "Wilcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" window appears.
           - Click "Next".

     2.2.  The "Install Hardware Device Drivers" window appears.
           - Click "Next".

     2.3.  The "Locate Driver Files" window appears.
           - Select the "Floppy disk drives" and the "Specify a location" box.
           - Click "Next".

     2.4.  In the "Copy manufacture's files from:" box type "A:\Win2000".
           - Click "OK".

     2.5.  Windows finds the driver in the floppy disk.
           - Click "Next".

     2.6.  Windows copies the driver from the floppy disk directory and the
           the "Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard" window appears.
           - Click "Finish".

     2.7.  If the "Digital Signature Not Found" window appears, then
           click "Yes".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
