readme 14-03-2005.txt Driver File Contents (Primax_Colorado_Direct_4800.zip)

I got this driver working for Windows XP Service Pack 2.
In trying out many different drivers for my Primax Colorado Direct, I have tried many things, I have included a registry key that * MAY* be needed to get the scanner working.

1) Install the drivers by starting the setup.exe program.
2) Try your scanner
3) If the scanner does not work yet, double click the 'Apply when scanner doesn't work.reg" file.

At first my Scanner did not work with this driver until I changed a line of code in the hardware.ini file (found in C:\Windows\Twain_32\scanny\hardware.ini)
So if this driver doesn't work for your scanner because it uses a higher resolution than 4800 dpi, change this line:

MaxResolution_600=4800

to your corresponding resolution (change the 4800 part).
The line of code can be found at the bottom of the hardware.ini file, you can edit the file using notepad.

This driver was originally for a Scanny scanner, a scanner with the model no. fb308c.
This model number is used by a wide variety of companies, so this driver *MAY* also work for your scanner.

I hope this helps many people out, if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me, mention 'Scanner driver' in the subject of your e-mail.
