Software bug fixes:
VMODEM.386:
(1) V.17 short train improvement.
(2) 33.6 compatibility with USR and Cirrus based modem. Timing recovery routine is improved.
    Connectivity and SNR performance are improved.
(3) 32 state trellis coder compatibility problem.
(4) Calling tone generation in V.34 mode is added.
(5) 2100Hz tone detection is modified to meet French PTT requirement.
(6) Dial tone detection filter is modified to meet European PTT requirement.
(7) Non-Pentium driver connection/CPU speed is optimized.

VPCTCOM.386:
(1) Ring detection algorithm is enhanced to meet European PTT requirement.
(2) V.23 Minitel connection fix.
(3) &Y command handling.
(4) Call progress tone detection for different country in voice record termination.
(5) Handshake signal monitoring through sound card.
(6) Fix data/Fax mode switch in non voice auto answer mode.
(7) Fix inactivity timer test and speed adjust test problem found in Microsoft Compatibility Test.
(8) Fixed calling tone generation in V.34 mode.
(9) Fixed bug which causes unreliable blacklist function.
(10) Set B0 as default for European countries.

MDMCHIPV.INF:
(1) Resolve installation problem found in Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.
(2) Pass Microsoft Modem Compatibility Test requirement in January 1997.

PTSERIAL.VXD:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
