336 NSP Modem Setup and Software Installation

Hardware Setup
   This modem select the COM Port and IRQ automatically.

PCMCIA Setup using Windows 95
   The setup procedure for PCMCIA or PnP is the same as most other devices of similar type.
   When the hardware is installed, and the computer is turn on, the device should be detected
   automatically. Windows 95 should ask you for the driver disk provided by the manufacturer.

   When it ask, insert the driver disk and click "OK". Windows 95 will try to find the driver
   files from the default floppy disk. If it can't find the files, it will ask you again for
   it location. Type in your floppy location like "A:" or "B:"

   If it does, then just click "OK" again and it should install properly with no further
   intervention. After the installation is completed, restart the computer and your modem is
   ready to work at your next startup.

This modem uses Ties as the escape sequence. "+++". If your software does not recognized this modem
(PCtel), try using Hayes compatible modem, with Generic Class 1 fax or "direct connect" under the
modem's setup or configuration section.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
