Thanks for using one of the best selling external CD-ROM controllers
ECD-108. This advanced external CD-ROM provides all the convenience
in portability, installation and operation.
There are four files in this floppy disk and will be copied to the "\DISK2GO"
directory after SETUP.EXE is executed:
(1) ECD.SYS : is the device driver and will automatically be appended
to the CONFIG.SYS after SETUP.
(2) ECD.EXE : executed under DOS prompt to load the device driver.
Execute it if ECD.SYS is not loaded by CONFIG.SYS.
(3) SETUP.EXE : installation program. Execute it to
install necessary files to a directory called
"DISK2GO" in the bootable disk.
(4) README.ecd : explains the installation procedures.

. Use SETUP.EXE to install the driver routine.
Under the DOS prompt, type the following command:
SETUP DriveName:
"DriveName" is the name of the bootable drive. For instance, drive C:
is your bootable drive. Type
SETUP C:
After installation, the screen will display:
ECD-108 driver routine installation completes.
You must restart the computer to use the portable CD-ROM.
Now, the ECD-108 driver routine is installed successfully and
you must restart the computer before using the ECD-108.
Section-2 Software Installation for Advanced Users

For WINDOWS 3.x and DOS
A. To activate the ECD after computer resets:
Add "DEVICE=C:\DISK2GO\ECD.SYS /D:ECD0001" to CONFIG.SYS, and
add "MSCDEX /D:ECD0001" to AUTOEXEC.BAT.
B. To activate the ECD when needed:
Execute the following two commands under DOS prompt,
C:\DISK2GO\ECD /D:ECD0001 <Enter>
MSCDEX /D:ECD0001 <Enter>
For WINDOWS 95
Add "DEVICE=C:\DISK2GO\ECD.SYS /D:ECD0001" to CONFIG.SYS, and
add "MSCDEX /D:ECD0001" to AUTOEXEC.BAT.
Note: Make sure both ECD and MSCDEX have proper path specified.
MSCDEX can be found in the DOS.
Section-3 Important Notice

1. ECD-108 CD-ROM controller uses all standard Centronics signals for data
transfer; therefore, should trouble occurred during installation and
operation, please check the LPT port signal pins.
2. Use ECD-108 for computers with 80286 CPU and up.

a) Faulty DB-25 cable. . Replace or reconnect the DB-25 cable
to the ECD-108.
b) The LPT port does not provide . Append the '/B','/N' option to the
complete byte mode operations, CONFIG.SYS and force the ECD-108 to
the ECD-108 may use nibble work in nibble node(see user's
mode only. manual section 2.4),reset the
computer and try again.

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
