========================= LG Electronics GSA-4082 Firmware Software ========================= Never update the firmware if the problem you’re having is the drive isn't seen by windows, won't write with the included software, or other interface related problems, unless (in the rare case) the firmware specifically states it fixes the problem you are having. Firmware updates normally don't address these types of problems. Trying to update the firmware when there are interface problems can damage the drive's firmware. Being able to read but not write is caused by bad firmware or an interface problem. An error when updating the firmware is usually caused by a problem with the drive interface or there is more than one drive connected to that IDE channel. --------- Purpose --------- - Improvement of Write Strategy for DVD Recordable media ==> DVD-R 8X: DAXON, TDK ==> DVD+R 4X: TDK - Improvement of Write Strategy for DVD±RW 4X media ==> DVD-RW 4X: TDK ==> DVD+RW 4X: RITEK, Infordisc, MBI - Improvement of readability for CD-ROM Multi session and Double Layer DVD-ROM. -------------------- Supported Drives -------------------- This firmware upgrade is for LG Branded drives.
