README.TXT Notes: ---------- This installation is valid only for IBM OS/2 2.0 with XR 06055 upgrade which has both 16 bit and 32 bit PM graphic engines. Also the XR 060055 upgrade includes a display driver installation program - DSPINSTL which simplifies the process of installing a new display driver. This package includes a 32 bit 1024x768 16 color PM display driver that can be used with HMC 86314 graphic card. To Install: ----------- 1. Install OS/2 2.0 and XR 06055 upgrade as you normally would, with standard VGA support. 2. After OS/2 2.0x is fully functional with standard VGA, at DOS C:\ prompt insert "HMC display driver diskette 1" into driver A and type : A:\setuphmc This action will copy the SVGA.EXE, PSHMC314.DSC and VSVGA.SYS to C:\OS2 , C:\OS2\INSTALL and C:\OS2\MDOS respectively. 3. Switch to OS2 command line and change to C:\OS2\INSTALL directory. Then execute the following command: DSPINSTL a. A panel will appear from which your select either Primary or Secondary display driver. click on <Primary Display> click on <OK> b. Another panel will appear from which you select the Display Adapter Type. try to find <HMC 86314> using scroll bar up or down click on <HMC 86314> click on <OK> After this, the system will execute the SVGA.EXE to generate the PMI file for the adapter you just selected. c. Another panel will appear from which you select the display resolution and there is only one resolution available - 1024x768x16. click on <OK> d. System then asks you to specify the source directory. It should be A:\. If it is not A:\, make a change. click on <OK> After this, the system will start to copy files from diskette to hard driver. It also makes the necessary changes on CONFIG.SYS and OS2.INI. e. A panel will appear again from which your select either Primary or Secondary display driver. This time please do: click on <CANCEL> f. The installation is complete. Shutdown OS2 2.0x and restart your computer again. 4. To restore to the original VGA mode, repeat step 3 and select the VGA as the adapter type.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
