3 Mode Floppy Driver Ver 1.2 Installation Guide for Windows 2000
 

  	There is no hardware detection for 3 mode drive during the Windows 2000 setup. 
  	If you are in the environment of Windows 2000, you can install 3-mode driver 
	with "Device Manager" of "System" in Control Panel. 

	1. Feature :

	2. Installation :
		
		To install 3 mode floppy disk driver in Windows 2000,users must install 2 drivers :
		The first driver is the floppy disk controller driver, and the second driver is the
		floppy disk driver. During installing these 2 drivers, user's floppy may not work properly,
		so please obey following suggestion and install steps.
 
		Important suggestion : 
			If it is the first time that the user install 3 mode floppy disk driver with the
			install floppy disk, please copy the drivers and .inf files to your hard disk.
			The files that users must copy is :

			(a) 3-mode floppy disk controller driver :
				
			    tosdfdc2.sys (3 mode floppy disk controller driver)
			    tosfdc.inf	 (3 mode floppy disk controller insatll file)
			
			(b) 3-mode floppy disk driver :
	 		    tosflpy.sys	 (3 mode floppy disk driver)
			    tosflpy.inf	 (3 mode floppy disk install file)
 

		(1) Copy 3 mode floppy disk drivers and .inf files to your hard disk. 		

		(2) Install 3 mode floppy disk controller driver
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from "Start" button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "System" from "Control Panel".
   			(c) Select "Hardware" tab from System Properties dialog box.
			(d) Click "Device Manager" button from System Properties dialog box.
   			(e) Double click "floppy disk controllers" if floppy disk controllers branch is
       			     not expanded.
   			(f) The default setting is "Standard Floppy Disk Controller". Double click 
       			    "Standard Floppy Disk Controller". The dialog box appears to display the
       			    properties of driver for the current floppy disk controller. 
   			(g) Select the "Driver" tab of the property sheet.
   			(h) Click "Update Driver..." button. This will appear "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard"
			    dialog box, and click the "Next" button.
   			(i) Select the "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can
			    choose a specific driver",then press the "Next" button.
			(j) Click the "Have Disk..." button.
   			(k) Set the location that the user copied the files to, and click the "Ok" button.
			(l) Select the "ITE 3-mode floppy disk controller",and click the "Next" button, thrn the
			    wizard will install the 3-mode floppy disk controller driver.
			(m) Click the "Finish" button to end the installation of 3 mode floppy disk controller
			    driver.

		(3) Please restart the Windows 2000 system.


		(4) Install 3 mode floppy disk driver
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from "Start" button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "System" from "Control Panel".
   			(c) Select "Hardware" tab from System Properties dialog box.
			(d) Click "Device Manager" button from System Properties dialog box.
   			(e) Double click "Floppy disk drivers" if floppy disk drivers branch is
       			     not expanded.
   			(f) The default setting is "Floppy Disk driver". Double click "Standard Floppy Disk".
	 		    The dialog box appears to display the properties of driver for the current floppy 
			    disk. 
   			(g) Select the "Driver" tab of the property sheet.
   			(h) Click "Update Driver..." button. This will appear "Upgrade Device Driver Wizard"
			    dialog box, and click "Next" button.
   			(i) Select the "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can 
			    choose a specific driver",then press the "Next" button.
			(j) Click the "Have Disk...", then press the "Next" button.
   			(k) Set the location that the user copied the files to, and click the the "Ok" button.
			(l) Select the "ITE 3-mode floppy disk driver",and click the "Next" button, then the
			    wizard will install the 3-mode floppy disk driver.
			(n) Click the "Finish" button to end the installation of 3 mode floppy disk driver.

		(5) Please restart the Windows 2000 system.
		
  		After installing the 3-mode driver, the system will automatically change the I/O
		mode of your PC. You can insert both the 3-mode format floppy disk or IBM compatible
		format floppy disk into the floppy drive. The system will automatically read it.



	3. Version Number :
		(1) Version Number:
   			(a) Select "Setting", "Control Panel" from "Start" button on the task bar.
   			(b) Click "System" from "Control Panel".
			(c) Select "Hardware" tab from System Properties dialog box.
   			(d) Click "Device Manager..." button from System Properties dialog box.
   			(e) Double click "Floppy disk controllers" if floppy disk controllers branch is
       			     not expanded.
			(f) Double click the ITE 3-mode floppy controller.
			(g) Select "Driver" tab from ITE 3-mode floppy controller Properties dialog box
       			(h) User will see the version number of the 3-mode floppy driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
