If you are installing on an IBM 166 Personal Computer 350:
----------------------------------------------------------

There is a problem with the autobaud mode of the external TA on these specific IBM machines
(and only on these). It will, however, work as expected if you configure it correctly once.

Start up Hyper Terminal by opening Start - Run - Programs - Accessories - Hyper
Terminal and clicking on "HyperTrm.exe".

You can enter an arbitrary string as the name of the connection. Select "OK".
Please select "Direct to Com1" for "Connect Using" (substitute the number of the
correct COM port for Com1 if necessary). Choose "57600" as the value for "Bits per second"
and click on "OK". You should now be directly connected to the TA. Type "AT" and
hit "ENTER". You should receive an "OK" response. Then enter "AT%B8&W" followed
by the return key. It is important that the %B8 and &W are entered on the same
line. You will receive a cryptic response (such as "@9JýC"). Do not worry about this.
You may now select "Disconnect" from the "Call" menu and "Exit"
from the "File" menu. From this moment onwards you can now use Hyper Terminal (or
any other terminal program) at a
"Bits per second" rate of "115200" (or simply choose one of the profiles such as "3Com
Sportster ISDN TA ext. X.75").
