Addendum to the installation manual CAPI 2.0 for the Sportster ISDN TA ext. operating under Windows NT 4.0 & Windows 95 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Since firmware version V5.263 the "Sportster ISDN TA ext." supports CAPI-applications (32 Bit, CAPI 2.0, CAPI2032.DLL). If you wish to use the feature "Eurofiletransfer", you will need to install the Sportster ISDN TA ext. as an ISDN-CAPI-adapter within RVS-COM. Normally, for all other functions, it is not necessary to install the Sportster ISDN TA ext. as an ISDN-CAPI-adapter, but if you wish to install the CAPI you will need to proceed as follows: 1.) Copy the files mentioned below using explorer. If you already have a CAPI2032.DLL that is used by another ISDN-adapter or ISDN PC card, you will need to rename the file. Otherwise, the file will be overwritten and you will not be able to access the other adapter. If you wish to use your other adapter, you should not install the CAPI for the Sportster ISDN TA ext. 2.) Copy the file CAPI2032.DLL into the directory \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ 3.) Copy the file TACAPI32.DLL into the directory \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ 4.) Copy the file TACAPI.INI into the directory \WINDOWS\ 5.) Modify using an editor the file TACAPI.INI. Adjust the ComPort setting depending on where the Sportster ISDN TA ext. has been installed. The default setting is "COM 2". 6.) You should now be able to access the Sportster ISDN TA ext. with CAPI-applications. Now begin the RVS-COM installation-assistant. CAPI should now be automatically detected. If you installed the Sportster ISDN TA ext. as an ISDN-CAPI-adapter, you will need to make sure that there is only one CAPI-application activated. - CommCenter -> Softmodem functionality must be deactivated. -> If CommCenter is active, no other CAPI-application can be started. - Fax -> For sending faxes, CommCenter has to be deactivated. -> For receiving faxes, CommCenter has to be activated. - Telephone -> No other CAPI-application should access the Sportster ISDN TA ext. -> CommCenter has to be deactivated. - Terminal -> No other CAPI-application should access the Sportster ISDN TA ext. -> CommCenter has to be deactivated. 3Com / U.S.Robotics Europe, 1998-08-25Download Driver Pack
