S3_10312.EXE     -      Jan 27, 1997

Description:
------------
S3 Virge Win95 Video Driver (version 1.03.12.) for HP Pavilion models 7270, 
7275Z and 7280P only.

S3_10312.EXE expands all files necessary to install this version of the
driver.


Installation Process:
---------------------
1. After downloading, use Windows Explorer to locate S3_10312.EXE and
   move it to an empty or temp directory.
2. Double-click on S3_10312.EXE and press OK at the first prompt.
3. Enter a path to a temporary directory or leave the C:\Windows\Temp default.
4. Press the Unzip button.
5. Over an open desktop area, Right mouse click and select Properties from 
   the pop-up menu.
6. In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Settings tab.
7. Click on Change Display Type.
8. Click on Change for the adapter type.
9. Click on Have Disk.
10.Enter the path of the temporary directory name where you extracted
   the files.
11.The S3 ViRGE entry will be selected. Click OK.
12.Click Close in the Change Display type dialog box.
13.Click Close on the Properties box.
14.Click Yes to restart the computer.


Known bugs fixed by this patch:

With Media Rack playing and the monitor shut-off feature activated in BIOS,
after two cycles of the screen turning off, the screen remains off until 
the unit is power-cycled.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
