1. Introduction:

   This Ethernet NDIS driver for Windows for Workgroups 3.1 conforms to
   3Com/Microsoft Network Driver Interface Specification v2.0.1 (Oct. 8,
   1990).  It supports Microsoft Windows for Workgroups v3.1 enviroment.


2. Contents of the Subdirectory:

      OEMSETUP.INF    A setup-information file for installing the Ethernet
                      NDIS driver under Windows for Workgroups 3.1.


3. Installation

  * Take the following steps at the first time you setup Windows for Work-
    groups on your hard disk:

    1) When the "Network Adapters" window is displayed, choose "Unlisted
       or Updated Network Adapter".

    2) When the "Install Driver" window appears, insert the Ethernet Driver
       Disk to any floppy drive, for example A:, and then enter "A:\WFW31"
       and select OK.

    3) When the "Unlisted Or Updated Network Adapter" window appears,
       choose "RPCI Ethernet".

    4) After Windows for Workgroups has read the RPCI Ethernet Driver, the
       "RPCI Ethernet" window will be redisplayed.


  * If the Windows for Workgroups has been installed and you want to change
    the network adapter to RPCI Ethernet Adapter, follow the procedure
    described below.

    1) Select "Control Panel" from Main group in Windows Program Manager.

    2) From the "Control Panel" window, select the "Network" icon.

    3) From the "Network Settings" window, select "Adapters".

    4) From the "Network Adapters" window, select the "Remove" button to
       discard the previous settings.

    5) Select the "Add" icon, and the "Install New Network Adapter" will
       be displayed.  Or, when "Network Adapters" window is displayed,
       choose "Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter".

    6) When the "Install Driver" window appears, insert the Ethernet
       Driver Disk into any floppy drive, for example A:, and then
       enter "A:\WFW31" and select OK.

    7) When the "Unlisted Or Updated Network Adapter" window is redis-
       played, choose "RPCI Ethernet".

    8) After Windows for Workgroups has read the RPCI Ethernet Driver,
       the "RPCI Ethernet" window will be redisplayed.

    9) From the "Network Adapters" window, select the "Close" button.

   10) From the "Network Settings", select "Restart Computer".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
