README SUPPLEMENT FOR ADOBE PS DRIVERS 1. Note for HP LJ8100 users. (WindowsNT4.0) The older Hewlett Packard LaserJet 8100 PCL 6 driver may interfere with the Postscript driver. To avoid this problem use LaserJet 8100 PCL6 driver V4.3.2.38 or later. 2. Collation When printing multiple copies, turn off collation in the application and turn "Collate" on, on the "DeviceOption" tab. With some applications, collation may significantly slow down your computer. And, some functions may not work correctly. 3. Sample Print/Locked Print without HDD. When the HDD is not installed, the printer do not support Sample Print and Locked Print, and these are automatically disabled. The printer will print the job as Normal Print. Even though the HDD is not installed, "Sample Print" and "Locked Print" can be selected in the driver. 4. Sample Print from IE5.01/IE5.5. When printing multiple copies with "Sample Print" using IE5.01/IE5.5, all copies are printed instead of any one copy. The document is also stored in the "Sample Print", and it consists of the multiple copies. 5. Collate printing with CorelDraw8 is not supported (Windows95/98 and WindowsNT4.0) When collate and duplex printing are selected, printing an odd number page document will print the first page of the second copy on the back of the last page of the first copy. 6. MS Word98 document with mixed orientation. (Macintosh) Printing of Macintosh MS Word98 document with mixed paper orientation may produce unexpected result if multiple copies, staple, or duplex is selected. 7. Custom Page Size. PostScript3 supports the custom paper size paper in the bypass tray only. 8. Staple As the stapler is physically fixed in the finisher, the finisher staples all documents at the upper left corner of the paper when you see it from in front of the printer. 9. Sample Print/Locked Print using bypass tray. When the Bypass Tray is selected, the printer do not support Sample Print and Locked Print, and these are automatically disabled. The printer will print the job as Normal Print. 10. Printing from Macintosh PageMaker. (Macintosh) When printing a document from Macintosh PageMaker, the printer may show "Load Letter" on the operation panel and wait for letter paper. In order to avoid this wait, set letter paper in one of the input tray, or turn off Macintosh "Background Print". (Note you have to turn off "Background Print" from the Finder.) 11. Watermark and QuarkXpress 4.1 (Windows95/98/Me) QuarkXpress 4.1 document may not be printed as expected if Watermark is selected. 12. Printing Custom Size Document from MS-Word (Windows95/98 and WindowsNT4.0) When printing a custom size document from MS-Word, the printout may not fit on the paper even if the printer has the specified paper size in the bypass tray. To avoid this problem, set up the desired custom paper size in the driver properties before you start MS-Word. The followings briefly explain the procedure to set up a custom paper size. Note: Do not set up a custom paper size from within the application's Print dialog. Creating or changing a new custom paper size does not take effect after the application is closed. In addition, the printout may not fit on paper even if the printer has the specified paper size in the bypass tray. Windows 95/98 1. Open My Computer and double click Printers. 2. Click the desired PostScript printer and select Properties from the File menu. 3. Select one of custom sizes in the Paper Size window in the Paper tab, and click Custom button. 4. Specify a name, width and length of the desired custom size paper and click OK. 5. Click OK to close the printer properties window. 6. Make sure that the custom size paper is set in the bypass tray. 7. Start MS-Word and print the custom size document. Windows NT4.0 When printing MS Word document using Custom Size on Windows NT 4.0, the image will not be printed properly.Download Driver Pack
