The user need to avoid the memory conflict with other devices or drivers like EMM386. Example : To avoid conflict with EMM386, the user need to modify config.sys as follow DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE x=D000-D800 if the adapter uses D000 as the share memory base [NET.CFG] Link Driver PCMDF MEM D0000 <=== share memory base Frame Ethernet_802.3 [PCMDF_NIF] DRIVERNAME = PCMDF$ 3. MODEM INSTALLATION The modem function is enabled by default. The ComPort and ComPort IRQ setting depend on the Card Services(like CardWizard). This driver disk also support a Windows VxD driver to handle modem and network operation in Windows operation system. The user need to copy the VxD driver(WMFC.386 or PWMFC.386/Japan OS) to the same directory of the driver. 4. SPECIAL NOTICE FOR GVC NOTEBOOK The following 2 files can adjust PCMCIA Chip CL67XX's timing, they were doing the same thing, the only difference is that one is device driver the other is execution file. PCM.SYS : PCMCIA Device Driver to change PCMCIA CHIP CL67XX timing for fast CPU like Pentium can work with some time critical PCMCIA card. a. use with SystemSoft Cardsoft Driver add one device line after Socket Service Driver DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\SSCIRRUS.EXE -->DEVICE=C:\PCM.SYS DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CS.EXE b. use it separately without Socket Service Driver -->DEVICE=C:\PCM.SYS PCM.COM : PCMCIA Utility to change PCMCIA CHIP CL67XX timing for fast CPU like Pentium can work with some time critical PCMCIA card 5. SOME NOTEBOOK BIOS BUG NOTICE Some early version BIOS will not clear the COM port setting in system memory area after the soft reset. In this case, the available COM port being assigned to the PCMCIA LAN/MODEM will toggle(ex. COM2, COM3) on each soft reset. To do the hardware reset will avoid this condition. Or you can contact your notebook supplier to update your BIOS.Download Driver Pack
