System Requirements ==================== The recommended minimum system for running Softex BayManager includes the following components: · A Pentium computer with one or more device bays · Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows 98 Second Edition · At least 5MB of free hard disk space available on your computer Installing the Softex BayManager Software ========================================== Before you install Softex BayManager software, we recommend that you close all applications and that any critical data files on your computer are backed up as a safety precaution. If you already have a previous version of Softex BayManager installed in the system, please refer to the section, Upgrading the Softex BayManager Software, for directions on how to upgrade your system to the latest level of Softex BayManager. To install Softex BayManager for the first time on a system: 1. Insert Disk 1 of the Softex BayManager software into drive A:. *Note: If your installation media is a CDROM, then insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive and follow the installation directions that are automatically displayed. 2. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar. 3. Choose Run… and enter A:\SETUP.EXE. *Note: If your installation media is a CDROM, click on the displayed hyperlink to install Softex BayManager. 4. Follow the directions displayed in the Softex BayManager installation program. Specify a pathname in which you want Softex BayManager to be installed. 5. Reboot your system when prompted by the setup program. Once the system is running again, you can use the Softex BayManager software. The installation program automatically places an icon, Softex BayManager, in the Windows Control Panel. Please refer to Chapter 2, Quick Guide to Using BayManager, for instructions on how to use BayManager. Un-Installing the Softex BayManager Software ============================================= If you already have a version of Softex BayManager installed in the system, you can un-install that software by following the steps below: 1. Insert Disk 1 of the Softex Power Management Controller software into drive A:. *Note: If your installation media is a CDROM, then insert the CDROM into the CDROM drive. 2. Click the Start button on the Windows Taskbar. Select Settings, and then Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. 4. Select Softex BayManager, and then click the Add/Remove... button. 5. Follow the directions to un-install the Softex BayManager program 6. Reboot your system when prompted by the setup program. After un-installing Softex BayManager, you will no longer be able to hot or warm swap the devices in your system bay(s). You will need to shut off your computer to change bay devices. Upgrading from a Previous Version of BayManager Software ========================================================= If you already have a version of Softex BayManager installed in the system, you must upgrade your system to Softex BayManager 1. Un-install the previous version of Softex BayManager software. Follow the steps outlined in the section, Un-Installing the Softex Power Management Controller Software, earlier in this chapter. 2. After the system has been rebooted, you can install the new version of Softex BayManager. Follow the steps outlined in the section, Installing the Softex BayManager Software, earlier in this chapter. You can use these steps because you have already un-installed the previous version of Softex BayManager. 3. Reboot the system. Now you can use the new version of Softex BayManager.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
