Release notes for PERC2 HP Openview Support. Functionality Provided. A FAST icon is placed in the submap for each node that meets the following requirements: the node has a PERC2 Adapter installed and FAST SNMP support has been enabled through the FAST control panel applet. This icon can be used to launch the PERC2 management application (FAST) by double clicking on the icon, using the popup menu accessible from the icon, or by using the tools menu while the PERC2 controller is selected. If the software fails to detect a PERC2 controller known to be in a machine, the user can force the software to re-query the selected node for PERC2 controllers. Select Tools->Adaptec Array Controller->Check Node For PERC2. Significant events are placed in the HP Openview event log (xnmevents). Installation instructions. In general, installing the Dell Special Edition of HP Openview will completly install the PERC2 support for HP Openview. These instructions are provided for users who may wish to install PERC2 support for HP Openview independent of the Dell Special Edition of HP OpenView. The PERC2 management software does not support automated installation of the HP Openview support files. The following instructions refer to the PERC2 system directory. This directory will be located wherever the PERC2 management software was installed. 1.) Copy aacovdis.exe and aacovmap.exe from the PERC2 system\hp_openview directory to the Openview bin directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\perc2\system\hp_openview\aacovmap.exe" c:\openview\bin copy "c:\program files\perc2\system\hp_openview\aacovdis.exe" c:\openview\bin 2.) Copy the PERC2 application registration file (aac.arf) from the PERC2 system\hp_openview directory to the Openview registration directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.arf" c:\openview\registration\c 3.) Copy the PERC2 trap definition file (aac.conf) from the PERC2 system\hp_openview directory to the Openview configuration directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.conf" c:\openview\conf\c 4.) Run xnmevents -load to update the HP Openview trap definition file. Example: cd c:\openview\conf\c xnmevents -load aac.conf 5.) Copy the PERC2 field registration (aac.frf) from the PERC2 system\hp_openview directory to the Openview fields directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.frf" c:\openview\fields\c 6.) Run "ovw -fields" to update the OpenView database. Example: ovw -fields 7.) Copy the FAST icon file (aac.ico) from the PERC2 system\hp_openview directory to the Openview bitmaps directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.ico" c:\openview\bitmaps\c 8.) Copy the PERC2 symbol registration file (aac.srf) to the Openview symbol directory. The PERC2 symbol registration file must be placed in the "Cards" subdirectory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.srf" c:\openview\symbols\c\cards 9.) Copy the PERC2 local registration file (aac.lrf) to the Openview lrf directory. Example: copy "c:\program files\PERC2\system\hp_openview\aac.lrf" c:\openview\lrf 10.) Register the aacovdis executable with the OpenView process manager. Example. ovaddobj aac.lrf 11.) Start the aacovdis process. ovstart aacovdis. 12.) Restart HP Openview NNM. At this point, icons should appear for PERC2 adapters that are present in the submap of the nodes in which the adapter resides.Download Driver Pack
