Do not have Windows95 search for new hardware. Select Floppy Disk Controller, and click on the "Have Disk" button. Browse to the directory where the driver files are located, and select DELL3MD.INF. Follow the prompts (you will have to restart your computer to complete the installation). For WindowsNT: View the diskette or driver file directory from "My Computer." Select the proper install script (either NT-NS30X.INF or NT-SM958.INF). Click on File->Install. The script you should use is determined by your computer type. Right-click on the A: drive object, "floppy drive 3 1/2 Floppy (A:" and select "Properties" from the menu. Select the HARDWARE tab, then select "floppy disk drive" in the device list and click "Properties." Select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver." Click "Display a list of known drivers," then click "Have disk" and direct it to the Win2000 directory in this package. There are three directories, each containing one driver. If you wish to copy a 1024-byte sector diskette, you can use the DISKCOPY function from the MS-DOS command prompt. Note for Latitude systems: This 3Mode driver should not be installed if you are using Softex Docking Services. Support for 1.25MB diskettes is provided by Softex Docking Services, so this driver is not needed. If you install this driver, you will need to re-install Softex Docking Services.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
