DWL-900AP Firmware Upgrade Instructions


1.   Download the Firmware for the DWL-900AP from www.support.dlink.com/downloads

2.   Extract the Firmware file to your Desktop or any location that you will remember.  You can do this by selecting "Browse".

3.   Connect the DWL-900AP to your computer via USB.  

4.   Make sure that you are connected to the DWL-900AP by running the USB configuration utility.  Don't change any settings, this is only to make sure you are connected.

5.   Double click the "dwl900AP_firmware_14h2.exe" file that was extracted.

6.   The Firmware will automatically upload the to the DWL-900AP. 

6.   Be sure not to disrupt the upgrade process at any time by disconnecting the DWL-900AP from power or USB.

7.   During the Firmware upgrade you will see a window called "Update Firmware File"  There will be a cartoon face on the left side of the window.

8.   Next you will see a window labled "Update FW" that says "Update firmware succesfully".  Click the OK button.

9.   The last screen will have the cartoon face, this time with a smile.  Click Exit to finish.

10.  Congratulations, you have just upgraded the Firmware on your DWL-900AP.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
