PowerVault 110T SDLT 220/320 Device Drivers for Windows 2000 and 2003 (32 and 64 bit)

 

Installation Instructions:
1. Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2000
2. Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2003

NOTE: The convention "X:" is used to describe the location where the update package was extracted.


Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2000 
 

1. Download and run the file SDLT320DRV.exe. The file will extract its contents to a temporary directory. 
   The default directory is x:\Dell\Drivers\R63066\Windows\32-bit where x:\ is the system root. 
2. Go to the desktop. Right click on My Computer and select Manage. The Computer Management folder appears. 
   Select Device Manager. 
3. Find the Quantum SDLT tape drive in the device manager. 
4. Right click the Quantum SDLT tape drive and select Properties from the menu. 
5. In the new window select the Driver tab. 
6. Click the Update Driver button, this will start an installation wizard. 
7. Click next to continue. 
8. Select the option "Display a list of known drivers..." and click next. 
9. Click Have Disk. 
10. Enter the location of the extracted drivers (The default is x:\Dell\Drivers\R63066\Windows\32-bit). 
11. Follow the rest of the instructions in the wizard to finish installation. 

Installing the Device Drivers for Windows 2003 (32 and 64 bit)
 

1. Download and run the file SDLT320DRV.exe. The file will extract its contents to a temporary directory. 
   The default directory is x:\Dell\Drivers\R63066\Windows where x:\ is the system root. 
2. Go to the desktop. Right click on My Computer and select Manage. The Computer Management folder 
   appears. Select Device Manager. 
3. Find the SDLT tape drive in the device manager. 
4. Right click the SDLT tape drive and select Properties from the menu. 
5. In the new window select the Driver tab. 
6. Click the Update Driver button, this will start an installation wizard. 
7. Click next to continue. 
8. Click the Install from List or Specific Location radio button
9. Click the Next button.
10. Checkmark the Search Removable Media box
11. Click the NEXT button.
12. Click the Finish button.
13. Close the Device Properties dialog box.
14. The drive now appears in Device Manager under Tape drives and is ready to use.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
