Installation diskette for Dell 3-Mode floppy driver.

This driver diskette enables support for 3-mode floppy drives under
Windows95, Windows98 and WindowsNT 4.0 on the following systems:

Dimension XPS Hxxx
Dimension XPS Rxxx
Dimension XPS Dxxx
Dimension Vxxx
Optiplex GX1
Optiplex GXa
Optiplex Gn/Gn+
Optiplex G1
Optiplex E1
Precision Workstation 210
Precision Workstation 410
Precision Workstation 610
Latitude CP
Latitude CPi
Latitude CPi A

Installation:

For Windows95 and Windows98, use the "Install new hardware" option in
control panel.  Do not have Windows95 search for new hardware.  Select
Floppy Disk Controller, and click on the "Have Disk" button.

For WindowsNT: View the diskette from "My Computer." Select the proper
install script (either NT-NS30X.INF or NT-SM958.INF). Click on
File->Install.

The script you should use is determined by your computer type.

Use NT-NS30X.INF for:

  Dimension XPS Hxxx
  Dimension XPS Dxxx
  Optiplex GX1
  Optiplex GXa
  Optiplex Gn/Gn+
  Optiplex G1
  Optiplex E1
  Workstation 210
  Workstation 410

Use NT-SM958.INF for:

  Dimension Vxxx
  Latitude CP
  Latitude CPi

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
