-------------------------------------------------------------------

3. NEW IN THIS RELEASE

3.1 Version 6.28 Winter 2001
NOTE: THIS VERSION OF THE DRIVER REQUIRES THE STATION
FUNCTIONS FIRMWARE TO BE VERSION 6.04 (OR HIGHER).
It is not compatible with older versions.
      * Added functionality for enabling/disabling radio from the
        Client Manager
      * Putting 'ANY' in a peer-to-peer profile gives a apropriate warning.
      * Profiles can now be selected trough the keyboard.

3.2 Version 6.14 June 2000
NOTE: THIS VERSION OF THE DRIVER REQUIRES THE STATION
FUNCTIONS FIRMWARE TO BE VERSION 6.04 (OR HIGHER).
It is not compatible with older versions.
      * ORiNOCO name change.
      * New control panel (Card Settings program).
      * Configuration profiles are qualified for network type:
        - Access Point (WavePOINT-II or other party 802.11 AP).
        - Residential Gateway (RG-1000).
        - Peer-to-Peer Group (IEEE 802.11 IBSS; network without AP).
This causes further configuration screens (tabs) to be
        adapted accordingly.
      * The "Ad-Hoc Demo Mode" can no longer be selected through
the Card Settings program. This to avoid confusion with
the Peer-to-Peer Group (IBSS) mode, and to discourage the
use of this non-interoperable mode of operation. For special
applications (e.g. research, or compatibility with other /
previous WaveLAN/IEEE products), it can still be configured
        by editing the Registry.
      * The "Advanced" tab has been split into an "Advanced" tab
and an "Admin" tab, to more clearly indicate that this
information is to be provided by the network administrator.
These tab-screens have been reworded, and check-boxes have
        been replaced by radio-buttons.

3.3 Version 6.00 March 2000
NOTE: THIS VERSION OF THE DRIVER REQUIRES THE STATION
FUNCTIONS FIRMWARE TO BE VERSION 6.04 (OR HIGHER).
It is not compatible with older versions.
      * Configuration via Control Panel Applet.
      * Support for multiple configuration profiles.
      * Microwave Oven Robustness parameter added.
      * "AP Density" parameter renamed to "Distance between APs".
      * Station Name taken from Windows Network Computer Name.

3.4 Version 4.00 July 1999
      * The software now supports data encryption via the
        Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) algorithm.
        - The WEP function allows you to enable or disable
encryption of all data traffic, and to specify up to
four keys for encryption/decryption. One key will
be assigned as dedicated encrypt key.
        - This function should only be anabled when you are
using WaveLAN SILVER cards; BRONZE or WHITE cards will
          not support encryption in hardware.
        - When enabling WEP, make sure your SILVER card has
firmware level 4.08 or higher. If neccessary, update
your cards with a firmware update utility (e.g. WSU10408)
        - A total system with encryption also requires a
WavePOINT installation with a SILVER card and with
WEP enabled and with matching encryption keys.
This requires WavePOINT AP software level 4.0 or
          higher.
      * This software can be run on all previously released versions
        of WaveLAN/IEEE Cards.

This version of the driver requires the Station Functions
firmware on the Card to be version 6.04 or higher.

6. KNOWN ISSUES

6.1 ORiNOCO Add/Edit profile does not appear upon installation

The ORiNOCO driver requires Windows NT Service Pack 4 or higher.

In case you are running SP3 or lower, your Windows NT system
does not provide the Windows system DLLs required to make the
    Add/Edit profile window work.

You can resolve this error by either:
	* Installing Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 4 or higher
	  (SP 6 is recommended),
	* (Re-)installing the latest Client Manager, or
	* Run the patch comupd50.exe provided on the ORiNOCO CD.
