                        THE ID.EXE PROGRAM



          The ID.EXE program is a utility program for reading
          and displaying information about a hard disk(s).


          Some of the types of information it displays are:
          Make, # of cylinders, heads, bytes, sectors, firmware
          revision etc...
    

          To use the utility type the program name followed
          by one or two parameters.

                
                          ID Disk# Controller#



          The Controller will default to 0 and is an optional
          parameter.


          The Disk# is either 0 for Primary and 1 for secondary.



          For example:


                          ID 0


           Displays information about the primary drive on controller
           0.

           
                          ID 1

           Will display inforamation about a secondary drive on controller
           0.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
