Introduction: Softex Utilities 
==============================

The Softex BayManager utility provides Bay swapping features for your 
Dell(r) Latitude(r) portable computer running the Microsoft(r) 
Windows 95 OSR 2.1, Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition(r) operating 
systems. Softex BayManager adds module swap capabilities to the Dell
Latitude C series computer's and the Latitude C/Dock family.

If you have an earlier version of Softex BayManager installed, remove
it before you install the updated version. Refer to Uninstalling the
Softex BayManager (INSTALL.TXT) for instructions.

If you do not have an earlier version of Softex BayManager installed, or
if you have already uninstalled it, you are ready to install the new
version of Softex BayManager. Refer to Installing Softex BayManager for 
instructions (INSTALL.TXT).

Installation of Softex BayManager should occur with the system undocked
and with any peripheral devices removed from the system.

It is strongly suggested you familiarize yourself with the Softex BayManager
User's Guide and the Appendix A which is in the back of the User's Guide.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
