PowerVault 136T Tape Library Firmware Release Notes

These release notes are applicable to the following firmware versions:
* PowerVault 136T Library Firmware 2.60.40
* PowerVault 136T Remote Manage Card Firmware 131d.00012
* PowerVault 136T LTO Tape Drive Firmware E15V 4.211
* PowerVault 136T FC Module Firmware 4.03.06

PowerVault 136T Library Firmware 2.60.40

The following problems are fixed:
* Repeated SAC A0 errors when the library is left idle overnight
* Library fails to recognize the mail slot after power on or a door open close condition.  This results in the following message on the LCD, ERROR!.  
* Library fails to recognize installed cartridge magazines or columns.
* SAC A0 is generated when removing the remote management card from the library.
* Communication problems between the library and tape drive resulting in a Drive Communication Error message on the library LCD.
* Drive firmware update through remote management card fails on the 2nd drive in a multiple-drive firmware update
* SAC 42 errors where the bar code scanner is unable to detect and installed mailbox
* SAC 43 errors where the library is unable to read the configuration label installed on storage columns or storage magazines
* Support for 7 digit Dell Service Tag

The following problems are fixed:
* Firmware downloads to the tape drives via the remote management card would fail if 4 or more drives were selected simultaneously.  
* Remote management card hang conditions
* SNMP traps are enabled during power up sequence.
* DHCP support has been removed

The following enhancements are added:
* Support for 7 digit Dell Service Tag
* Enabling of the diagnostics tab
* Link added to return the user from detailed status page back to normal status page.

PowerVault 36T LTO Drive Firmware E15V 4.211

The following problems are fixed:
* LTO Drive READY LCD stops flashing after an expired cleaning cartridge has been inserted into the drive
* Improved communications between LTO Drive and the library over the drive's serial interface

The following enhancements are added:
* LTO Drive front panel TAPE ERROR light flashes after a drive error

PowerVault 136T Fibre Channel Module Firmware 4.03.06
Previous version: 4.02.08

The following problems are fixed:
* Target Reset does not post proper sense data of 06 29 00
* FC loop back test now works properly
* The FC module now properly senses between 1 GB and 2 GB
* Extended copy stream problem when multiple extended copy commands are running
* supportDump properly captures all data
* Extended copy stream fix to discard buffer handling
* Allow READ BLOCK LIMITS and REPORT DENSITY SUPPORTED when there are reservations on a sequential access device
* Link statistics now report proper information instead of unavailable from GUI


The default setting for the FC ports is auto sensing
* Added 0x0F segment descriptor support for data mover

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
