FAILURES SOLVED
Incorrect Buffer Capacity:
Return correct size for Read Buffer Capacity command after writing fixed packets. After a successful retry, the retry buffer is now free and this space will be available in the free buffer space.
Mute Audio noise when transferring data:
Audio noise during data transfer will be muted on the headphone and the digital output lines. This muting is only possible when the drive is at hardware version (Mod Level) 45 or higher.
Copy Flag detection for continuos Audio tracks:
By copying an Audio CD with no pause between the Audio tracks (Pregap of 2 Sec), the detection of the copy bit happens on the previous track.
Read Buffer Capacity Command
Drive will return correct empty buffer space.
Corrected response on Get Mechanical Status Command
When the allocation length is set to zero, the drive will not report an error (conform the ATAPI specifications).
Fix for occasional "Overlapped Commands Occurred" Error
Sometimes, the drive returned unexpectedly the "Overlapped Commands Occurred" error.
Awake from Sleep mode:
The drive now wakes up from sleep mode with an ARST or SRST command.
Fix for Soft Error reporting:
Will deliver all data to host before posting soft-error (01/17/00 or 01/18/00)


IMPROVEMENTS
Read CD Command for Q-channel valid for every block:
The Q-sub-channel data returned by the Read CD Command with the Sub-channel Data Selection field set to 010b (Q-data) is now valid for every block.
Improved performance for writing:
The data transfer speed between the host and the drive is improved. With this improvement chances for Buffer Underrun Error will be minimized.
Improved Speed-Down algorithm:
The speed-down algorithm is improved to avoid reporting errors too early, this could cause "Spare Full" on Fix Packet writing disc.
Buffer Underrun for Variable Packets:
Better reliability regarding buffer underrun when writing variable packets.
Spin-up improvements:
The drive will responds faster on host access commands from a spin-down mode to ready.

CHANGES
Reject the Read CD Command with RAW sub-channel request:
The Read CD Command with the Sub-channel Data Selection field set to 001b (Raw mode) will be rejected by returning the sense code 05/24/00 (Illegal use of bit or byte in CDB).
Write strategy for Recordable Discs
The write strategy used to be determined first by the ATIP information in case Orange Book 3.1 compliance and then the OSJ table. Now it will be defined by an internal OSJ-table first and then the ATIP information.
Write Strategy Parameter change for Ritec and Fornet International Discs:
Enhanced ability to write to more Ritec and Fornet International discs.
