readme.txt Driver File Contents (KMXFX.EXE)

This fix was created to be run on systems with Windows 98SE that are failing for "file
not found c:\dell\fist\kmixer.reg" during "Now completing installation of applications…"
phase of customer setup. After running the fix, all software ordered by the customer
should be set up and ready to use.

There are two ways to run this fix depending on which form of the fix was downloaded.
Either run the diskette file or run the self-extracting file.

To use this application from the diskette file, follow the steps below:

1.	Insert the disk in your floppy drive and type "A:\install.exe" from Start-->run.
2.	Allow all activity to stop, remove the floppy disk when prompted, and re-start
your system by going to start -> shutdown->restart.
3.	When the system boots up to Windows 98, you should see a window in the top
right corner that shows a text message "Now completing installations of
applications". It is strongly recommended that you do not open up any
applications while setup is running. This will automatically run through a number
of reboots, and will take some time depending on what was ordered on the
	system.
4.	Installation will be complete when the system reboots for the last time and the
"Now completing installations of applications" does not show up in the upper
right hand corner of the desktop.

To use this application from the self-extracting file, follow the steps below:

1.	If you have downloaded the self-extracting zip file rather than the diskette file,
unzip the files, go to start-->Run and type c:\dell\drivers\kmxfx\install.exe to run
	it from the c:\Dell directory.
**If you have chosen a different directory rather then the default Dell directory,
replace Dell with the directory you chose in the example command line above.
2.	Restart your system by going to start -> shutdown->restart.
3.	When the system boots up to Windows 98, you should see a window in the top
right corner that shows a text message "Now completing installations of
applications". It is strongly recommended that you do not open up any
applications while setup is running. This will automatically run through a number
of reboots, and will take some time depending on what was ordered on the
	system.
4.	Installation will be complete when the system reboots for the last time and the
"Now completing installations of applications" does not show up in the upper
	right hand corner.
