Introduction This Ethernet ODI Driver for DOS workstations conforms to Novell NetWare 386 Public Domain Open Data-Link Interface (ODI), a specification that is designed by Novell and Apple. It applies to the NetWare DOS work- stations and Personal NetWare. 2. Contents of the Subdirectory PNPODI.COM ODI DOS Workstation Driver for the PNP Ethernet Card. PNPODI.INS The Installation Information File. When you execute the "Install" program on the client site, you should choose "Plug-and-Play Ethernet MLID v4.00" on the "Network Board", then create NET.CFG file. 3. Installation 1) Install the PNP Card on your PC system, following the procedure de- scribed in the manual coming with your card. 2) Boot the system. 3) Then skip to the related section for your specific network application to continue the ODI driver installation. 3.1 NetWare DOS Workstation for 286/386 up to v3.11 3.1 Installation on a DOS Workstation Running NetWare v3.11 or Earlier 1) Insert the NetWare 386 DOS/ODI WS Service Diskette (NW 3.10) or WSGEN Diskette (NW 3.11) into any floppy, e.g., A:. 2) Create a directory, e.g., DOSODI or any, on your hard disk or a floppy disk. Copy the following files from your Ethernet Driver Disk to the directory just created: A:\DOSODI\LSL.COM A:\DOSODI\IPXODI.COM A:\NET3.COM or A:\NET4.COM 3) Insert the Ethernet Driver Disk into any floppy drive, then copy PNPODI.COM to the directory created in step 2. 4) Type as follows under the directory to connect to the Novell server. LSL PNPODI IPXODI NETX (X=3, 4, 5) F: (The drive which is next to the defined last drive. The default is F.) LOGIN <user_name> 3.2 Installation on a DOS Workstation Running NetWare v3.12 or v4.0x 1) Prepare the installation software to install a NetWare DOS work- station. For more information, see your "Workstation Basics and Installation" book. 2) Insert the Ethernet Driver Disk to any floppy drive. Copy the new RPCI.COM from the disk to the directory where your installation software exists. 3) Type as follows under the directory to connect to connect Novell server : LSL.COM PNPODI.COM IPXODI.COM VLM F: (or the first network drive defined in NET.CFG) LOGIN <user_name> Type your password if required !!! Note !!! NetWare version older than 3.12 are defaulted to the Ethernet_802.3 frame type; the newer version are defaulted to the Ethernet_802.2 frame type. For more information, refer to appendix B in your "Workstation for DOS and Windows" Appendix B. 3.3 Personal NetWare 1) Copy PNPODI.COM to the root directory. 2) Install Personal NetWare. When you are asked to choose the name of your card, choose "*OTHER CARDS". 3) Insert a formatted diskette to any floppy drive (e.g, A:), then press <Esc> to continue. 4) Choose RPCI.COM from "Other Driver List". 5) Continue the current task to complete the installation.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
