This document contains installation notes, which is not included in the
IC-Card+ Ethernet PC Card USER'S GUIDE or onscreen instructions,
for Lantastic 5.0 & 6.0 AI users regarding IC-Card+ PC Card installation.

NOTE:
      The ICARDP.DOS driver mentioned in this document is an NDIS driver
      provided by Vendor.

      The AEXNDIS.DOS driver mentioned in this document is an NDIS driver
      provided by ARTISOFT.

2.1  For Lantastic 5.0 Users
----------------------------

  2.1.1  For NDIS driver User
  ---------------------------

     Please replace the driver AEXNDIS.DOS with the ICARDP.DOS driver
     in the CONFIG.SYS file.

     Important Notes:
     For PROTMAN.DOS V1.x Users
     Please also include the NO_BIND option in the AI-NDIS command line
     in your STARTNET.BAT file, and run NETBIND.EXE V1.x before
     AILANBIO.EXE.



2.2  For Lantastic 6.0 Users
----------------------------

  2.2.1  For NDIS driver User
  ---------------------------

    1.  Run Lantastic 6.0 install program, and select
        "NDIS support for network adapters"

    2.  Type the IC-Card+ NDIS driver path:
        EX:
            "C:\LANTASTI.DRV".

        The install program will search "ICARDP.DOS" and "PROTOCOL.INI"
        and copy these two files to the target directory.

    3.  Restart Computer.



    Note:
        If you have already installed Lantastic 6.0 and want to install
        IC-Card+ Ethernet PC Card,  please replace the driver
        AEXNDIS.DOS with the ICARDP.DOS driver in the CONFIG.SYS file.

2.2.2  For ODI DOS  driver User
-------------------------------

         The ODI for DOS driver, support "ICARDP.COM" driver for
         IC-Card+ PC Card. You can use "ICARDP.COM" driver to
         replace NRODI.COM which is the ODI for DOS driver offered by
         ARTISOFT.

         Note: Because ICARDP.COM following HSM v4.0 spec, please
               save LSL.COM, IPXODI.COM that was originally supported by
               Lantastic. Copy both release driver diskette's LSL.COM,
               IPXODI.COM to C:\LANTASTI.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
