Installation Instructions:
==========================

Download - Download the file to a known directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self extracting executable.

1) Click the "Download Now" link to download the file.

2) If the Export Compliance Disclaimer window appears, click the "I agree" link to accept the agreement.

3) When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to a known location on your hard drive.

Floppy Creation - the downloaded self-extracting file creates a Windows 2000 driver diskette for the LSI Logic SCSI controllers. You will need a formatted 3 - 1/2 inch 1.44 MB floppy diskette for the following procedure.

1) Browse to the directory where you downloaded the file.

2) Double click on the file to run the executable.

3) Specify the location to unzip the files.

4) Select the 'Unzip' button to extract files to the floppy.

Installing the LSI Logic 1020/1030 Driver as Part of a New Windows NT 4 Operating System Installation

1) Ensure your Windows NT v4.0 CD is inserted into the CD-ROM drive.

2) Start your system. Immediately press and release the F6 key when you see the following message: "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration..."

3) When prompted to specify a storage controller driver, press 'S' to specify an additional device.

4) Press 'Enter' to select Others; the install will prompt you to insert a driver diskette.

5) Insert the diskette created from the downloaded self-extracting file into your floppy drive, and press 'Enter' again.

6) Note that the install has located the "Dell PERC 4/im | LSI Logic 1020/1030 Driver (Windows NT)", and press 'Enter' to select it.

7) To add any other host adapters, press 'S' again and follow the instructions provided with the drivers for the adapter being added.

8) Once all desired storage drivers have been specified, press 'Enter' to continue with the Windows NT operating system setup. Follow the instructions onscreen and in the Windows NT documentation to complete the installation.

*NOTE* Known limitations in the Windows NT4 installation can cause larger disk sizes to not be shown correctly during the text-mode part of the install. Once the text-mode portion of the install is completed, the disk sizes should be correct once the GUI is running.
