Version 3.7   Banksia Modem Drivers - Microsoft Windows 95, 98 & NT 4.0

To take full advantage of using your modem with Microsoft Windows 95, 98 and
Windows NT 4.0, it is recommended that you install the modem information file
provided with this archive. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to follow the Uninstall 
Procedure below to ensure that any previous Banksia drivers have been removed.

Section 1: Driver Uninstall Procedure for Windows 95 and 98

NOTE: If your system does not find a particular file during 
      uninstall, move onto the next point. Not all files will 
      be found on all systems.

1. Click on "Start"
2. Select "Find"
3. In the "Named" field type B*.INF
4. In the "Look in" field type C:\WINDOWS\INF
5. Click on the "Advanced" tab and type BANKSIA in the "Containing Text" field.
6. Click on "Find Now"
7. When it is finished, select each of the files found and press the "DEL" key 
   on your keyboard, and choose "OK" to delete them.

8. In the "Named" field type MDMBANK.INF
9. Leave the "Look in" field as C:\WINDOWS\INF
10. Leave the "Advanced" tab, "Containing Text" field as BANKSIA.
11. Click on "Find Now"
12. When it is finished, select each of the files found and press the "DEL" key 
    on your keyboard, and choose "OK" to delete them.

13. In the "Named" field type OEM*.INF
14. Leave the "Look in" field as C:\WINDOWS\INF
15. Leave the "Advanced" tab, "Containing Text" field as BANKSIA.
16. Click on "Find Now"
17. When it is finished, select each of the files found and press the "DEL" key 
    on your keyboard, and choose "OK" to delete them. 


Section 2: Driver Uninstall Procedure for Windows NT 4.0
--------------------------------------------------------
Use the method described in Section 1, but replace "C:WINDOWS\INF" in the "Look in" 
field with C:\WINNT\INF 


Section 3: Install for PnP modems (not NT 4.0)
----------------------------------------------

NOTE: If your system does not respond as shown during install, 
      move onto the next point. Not all computers will respond in
      the same fashion.

- Connect your modem as per the instructions supplied with it.
- Turn on your computer.
- If prompted, select "Driver Supplied by Manufacturer"
- Choose "Have Disk"
- Click on "Browse" and go to the .INF file provided with this archive.
- Click on "OK" and the driver will be installed.

- If prompted to search, click "Next"
- Choose "Other Location"
- Click on "Browse" and go to the .INF file provided with this archive.
- Click on "OK" and the driver will be installed.


Section 4: Install for NON-PnP modems (and NT 4.0)

- From the START button select Settings, Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Modems icon in the Control Panel.
- When prompted ensure the 'Don't detect my Modem; I will select it from a
  list' box has a cross in it.
- Click on the Next button.
- From the Modem List window click on the Have Disk button.
- Browse to the .INF file provided with this archive.
- Click on the Ok button.
- From the Banksia modem list select your modem model.
- Click on the Next button.
- Select the Communications Port that your Modem is connected to.
- Click on the Next button.
- Click on the Finish button.
- Your modem has now been installed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
