CNET PRO200WL PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter NDIS Driver for LANtastic 5.0 / 6.0 / 7.0 Installation Guide ================================================ 1. Installation Procedure for LANtastic 5.0 =========================================== For NDIS driver, there is the "DM9PCI.DOS" driver for the Ethernet adapter. You can use "DM9PCI.DOS" driver to replace AEXNDIS.DOS which is the NDIS driver offered by ARTISOFT. Example ----- CONFIG.SYS DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\DM9PCI.DOS Example ----- AUTOEXEC.BAT / STARTNET.BAT C:\LANTASTI\AI-NDIS BIND_TO=DM9PCI_NIF C:\LANTASTI\AILANBIO C:\LANTASTI\REDIR MachineName Example ----- PROTOCOL.INI [PROTMAN] DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$ DYNAMIC = YES [DM9PCI_NIF] DRIVERNAME = DM9PCI$ ; Drivername = DM9PCI$ ; ; SLOT = 1 ; This parameter specifies the slot number used for notifications. ; For PCI slot , you can specify from 1 to 16. ; ; MEDIA_TYPE = AUTODETECT ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_100M_FULL ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_100M_HALF ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_10M_FULL ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_10M_HALF ; Note: ; AUTODETECT ; --> Auto detect the data rate and duplex mode ; FM_100M_FULL ; --> Forced 100M Full Duplex Mode ; FM_100M_HALF ; --> Forced 100M Half Duplex Mode ; FM_10M_FULL ; --> Forced 10M Full Duplex Mode ; FM_10M_HALF ; --> Forced 10M Half Duplex Mode ; ; This parameter specifies the connector type configuration ; (data rate and duplex mode) of the network adapter card. Comments: If you are using PROTMAN.DOS V1.x, you must use the NO_BIND option on the AI-NDIS command line in the STARTNET.BAT, and you need to run NETBIND.EXE V1.x before AILANBIO.EXE. 2. Installation Procedure for LANtastic 6.0 =========================================== To install PRO200WL NDIS driver "DM9PCI.DOS", you can use the LANtastic 6.0 install program, select "NDIS support for network adapters", insert the driver diskette, and type path "A:\NDIS20\DOS". The Install program will search for "DM9PCI.DOS" and "PROTOCOL.INI" and copy these two files to the target directory. If you already installed LANtastic 6.0 and need to install the PCI Ethernet Adapter, replace AEXNDIS.DOS with the NDIS driver "DM9PCI.DOS" at CONFIG.SYS as below. "DM9PCI.DOS" is an NDIS driver of the adapter card. "AEXNDIS.DOS" is an NDIS driver which supported by ARTISOFT. Example ----- CONFIG.SYS DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANTASTI DEVICE=C:\LANTASTI\DM9PCI.DOS Example ----- AUTOEXEC.BAT / STARTNET.BAT @echo ===== Begin LANtastic configuration ===== SET LAN_CFG=C:\LANTASTI PATH C:\LANTASTI;%PATH% SET LAN_DIR=C:\LANTASTI.NET rem Please obtain the NETBEUI.EXE program from Microsoft NETBEUI AI-NDIS BIND_TO=AEXNDIS_NIF AILANBIO @STARTNET.CFG REDIR THOMAS @STARTNET.CFG SERVER C:\LANTASTI.NET @STARTNET.CFG NET LOGIN \\username @echo ===== End LANtastic configuration ===== Example ----- PROTOCOL.INI [PROTMAN] Priority=NETBEUI DriverName = PROTMAN$ Dynamic = Yes [NETBEUI_XIF] DriverName = netbeui$ Sessions = 6 NCBS = 12 Bindings = DM9PCI_NIF LANABASE = 1 [DM9PCI_NIF] DRIVERNAME = DM9PCI$ ; ; SLOT = 1 ; This parameter specifies the slot number used for notifications. ; For PCI slot , you can specify from 1 to 16. ; ; MEDIA_TYPE = AUTODETECT ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_100M_FULL ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_100M_HALF ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_10M_FULL ; MEDIA_TYPE = FM_10M_HALF ; Note: ; AUTODETECT ; --> Auto detect the data rate and duplex mode ; FM_100M_FULL ; --> Forced 100M Full Duplex Mode ; FM_100M_HALF ; --> Forced 100M Half Duplex Mode ; FM_10M_FULL ; --> Forced 10M Full Duplex Mode ; FM_10M_HALF ; --> Forced 10M Half Duplex Mode ; This parameter specifies the connector type configuration ; (data rate and duplex mode) of the network adapter card. 3. Installation Procedure for LANtastic 7.0 =========================================== 1. Run Lantastic INSTALL program to install Lantastic and prepare to answer questions. 2. When prompted for choosing a network adapter card, select "NDIS Support for non-Artisoft adapter". 3. Insert this diskette into drive 'A'. 4. Type "A:\NDIS20\DOS" under the "Enter NDIS driver directory" dialog box. 5. (NDIS) string will appear in "Select Adapter" dialog box, then press OK. 6. When "Summary" screen shows up, the "Network Adapter" line should be as follows. (NDIS) "NDIS Support for Network Adapters........." 7. Finish the rest installation steps. 8. To start the network, execute the STARTNET.BAT batch file.Download Driver Pack
