II. Installing Openserver on a Dell Server Equiped with a PERC 2; 2/Si; 3/Si; 3/Di
=======================================================================

In order to install Openserver to a PERC 2 RAID controller on a Dell Server
you will need to load in a BTLD during install. Follow the directions below
to create the BTLD diskette and install the driver.

1) dd the driver image to a floppy. This can be done under a UNIX based
operating system with the dd command (ie. dd if=percraidv1.0.img
of=/dev/fd0) with fd0 being the floppy drive. There are also DOS based
programs that will do this such as rawrite (remember, if you are using a
DOS based machine without long filename support you will need to use a
truncated filename) available from sites like:

	ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/linux/redhat/dos/rawrite.exe
	ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/distributions/redhat/dos/rawrite.exe

2) Start the install as normal, but at the BOOT: prompt type the following:

   defbootstr link=percraid

This links in the PERC 2 driver (percraid), If you are installing from a Scsi cdrom
the target SCSI id is 5. If installing from a IDE cdrom on a 2450 change the cdrom
selection from SCSI to IDE Cdrom and Primary/Master.

3) Continue installation as normal, you will be prompted to insert the
driver disk for the percraid driver later.

When adding additional drives under SCO, increment the Target ID and not the
Lun.
