Readme.txt Driver File Contents (NT4415.exe)

1. Download the PERC4/Di NT4415.exe to a directory on your hard drive. The file 
download is a self-extracting executable.
2. Execute the download file that unzips the driver files to a floppy 
diskette.

There are two methods for installing the NT 4.0 drivers: 

Fresh Installation of the NT 4.0 Driver: 
1. Boot to the NT 4.0 OS CD
2. As soon as the CD starts booting, press 'F6' on your keyboard.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen until you are asked if you want to add any new devices not listed.
4. Press 'S'. You will be promted to insert a floppy into the drive. Insert the floppy with the drivers in it.
5. Press 'Enter'. A list with a single driver option will appear.
6. Highlight it, and press 'Enter'. The driver will be copied from the floppy.
7. You will be prompted asking if you want to install any new devices. Press 'Enter' if you don't have any additional devices to install. Otherwise repeat step 4.
8. Continue the installation.

Adding the NT 4.0 Driver to an Existing Installation: 
1. Insert the diskette that contains the driver for NT 4.0 in the appropriate drive. The driver files can also be installed from a local or network drive. 
2. Click on Start > Control Panel > Settings. Double-click on the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) Adapter icon.
3. Select the Drivers tab.
4. Click on the Add button. 
5. Select Have Disk. 
6. The Install From Disk box appears. Specify the location of the driver and click on OK. 
7. Click on OK to add the driver.

This procedure will install the PERC4/Di drivers for Windows NT 4.0. You 
must reboot the system after the driver installation has completed successfully.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
