DAVICOM DM9PCI NDIS 2 Driver Installation Guide for PC-NFS

* Installing PC-NFS Software
1. Insert PC-NFS diskette 1 into drive A.
2. Change to driver A and enter INSTALL at command prompt
3. Specify "C:\NFS" as installation directory
4. Select "Ethernet" network connect
5. Use a manufacturer's NDIS driver
6. Specify "C:\NFS" as the target NDIS driver installation directory
7. Follow the instructions in the installation program

* Install NDIS driver for PC-NFS
1. Insert PC-NFS QUIKNDIS diskette into drive A.
2. Change to driver A and enter QUIKNDIS at command prompt
3. Select "Custom" type NDIS driver
4. Specify the full path of the directory containing the NDIS driver
5. Specify "DM9PCI" as .NIF file
6. use the current DRIVERNAME "DM9PCI$"
7. Select "Go ahead and modify"

* Configuring PC-NFS Software
1. Edit a file in C:\NFS named HOSTS containing the following items
	<local host IP address> 	<local host name>
	<server IP addres>		<server 1 name>
	<PCNFSD server IP address>	<PCNFSD name>
	<gateway IP address>		<gateway name>
2. Start NFSCONF program
3. From the Network menu, select "Direct Connect" to configure
   network connection

* Accessing network file with DOS
1. At the DOS prompt, enter NFSCONF
2. From the Resource menu, choose "Define Drive"
3. Enter the information requested.
4. After you return to DOS, you can access the file system by entering
   the driver letter you assigned to it followed by a colon.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
