SuperTrak SX6000 Flash utility procedure
Readtme.txt Release 1.2
June 25, 2004

This document contains information and warning precautions for
flashing the firmware code to the SuperTrak SX6000 RAID controller.

The contents of this zip file should contain the following files:

B27.BIN - This file is the binary firmware module that contains
all code necessary to upgrade the BIOS and firmware for
the SuperTrak SX6000 caching RAID controller.

I2o.BAT - This file was created to automatically flash the SuperTrak
		SX6000 controller.

I2oUTIL3.EXE -	This file is the proprietary SuperTrak SX6000 flash utility.
This utility will only work for the SuperTrak SX6000 controller.

README.TXT -	This is the readme file version 1.2 for SuperTrak SX6000

Procedures, Cautions and Warnings:

These files should either be unzipped to a floppy diskette of 1.44MB in capacity
and checked for errors or placed in a separate directory on a hard disk using a
controller other than the SuperTrak SX6000. If using a floppy, make sure that
the floppy was FULLY scanned for errors before flashing the SuperTrak SX6000
controller. I2o.bat should be run from a DOS environment version 6.22 or above.
This flash utility WILL NOT run under Windows NT or Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

When the 4 files have been extracted to the same directory, i2o.bat should
be the only file that you need to run to upgrade the SuperTrak SX6000 controller.
However, if in the event that this batch file is separated from the original zip
file, you may use the following parameters at a DOS prompt. Observe spacing between
parameters, numerals, and file names:

i2outil3 /m 3 /f /u B27.bin

If you wish to back up the firmware on the SuperTrak SX6000 before flashing to the
upgraded firmware, you can insert a new formatted diskette with i2outil3.exe or
save the file to a hard disk using a controller other than the SuperTrak SX6000
by executing this example command:

i2outil3 /m 3 /f /d A:\BIN.BAK

WARNING:
Should a loss of power to the system occur during the flash process, the controller
could become non-functional. It is recommended to use an uninterruptible power
supply on the system in which the SuperTrak SX6000 will be updated.

Use the command "i2outil3 /m 3 /f /d A:\BIN.BAK" to backup the existing firmware before upgrading the controller firmware.

You should always have a current backup of the data on the array and also information pertaining to the array, such as RAID level, the number of drives in the array,
gigabyte boundary and the stripe block size. This information is located in Option 3
in the SuperBuild BIOS utility that is accessible after the SuperTrak SX 6000 BIOS has initialized.
