Promise SATA150 Series BIOS Upgrade Utility [12/20/2002] [INSTALLATION] 1.1 Make a BIOS Upgrade Disk a. Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy drive. b. Using an unzip utility, extract the files from the BIOS ZIP file to the floppy disk c. Label the diskette "SATA150 BIOS Utility Disk" and remove the disk from the floppy drive. 1.2 Boot your system a. Insert a DOS Boot Disk in the floppy drive. b. Turn on your system. c. When your system boots to the command line, remove the Boot Disk from the floppy drive. 1.3 Upgrade the SATA150 BIOS a. Insert the SATA150 BIOS Utility Disk into the floppy drive. b. At the A:\> prompt, type DIR and press Enter to see the name of the BIOS upgrade (.bin) file. c. At the A:\> prompt, type the following: pflashb8 /f XXXbXXXX.bin Where XXXbXXXX.bin is the name of the upgrade BIOS file, identified in step b, above. d. Press Enter. The utility will report the following: Updating card 0 ....OK. e. Remove the SATA150 BIOS Utility Disk and reboot your system. This completes the BIOS upgrade procedure. Syntax : PFLASHB8 /? - help PFLASHB8 /f [path] filename.bin - Update BIOS from file. PFLASHB8 /s [path] filename.bin - Save BIOS image to file. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
