Promise FastTrak Series BIOS Upgrade Utility [12/20/2002] [INTRODUCTION] 1.1 Foreword This utility should be used with all Promise FastTrak Series cards running on Windows and Linux operating systems. 1.2 Support List All Promise FastTrak Series ATA and Serial ATA RAID Controller cards 1.3 How to make a Utility Diskette Linux: 1. Insert a new formatted diskette. 2. Type the "unzip" command to extract the files onto the diskette. 3. Label the diskette "FastTrak BIOS Utility Disk". Windows: 1. Insert a new formatted diskette. 2. Use WinZIP to extract the files onto the diskette. 3. Label the diskette "FastTrak BIOS Utility Disk". 1.4 How to make a Boot Diskette 1. Insert a new formatted diskette. 2. Follow the instructions for creating a boot diskette for your system. 3. Label the diskette "Boot Disk". [INSTALLATION] 2.1 Boot your system a. Insert the Boot Disk in the floppy drive. b. Turn on your system. c. When your system boots to the command line, remove the Boot Disk from the floppy drive. 2.2 Upgrade the FastTrak BIOS a. Insert the FastTrak BIOS Utility Disk into the floppy drive. b. At the A:\> prompt, type DIR and press Enter to see the name of the BIOS upgrade (.bin) file. c. At the A:\> prompt, type the following: pflash /f XXXbXXXX.bin Where XXXbXXXX.bin is the name of the upgrade BIOS file, identified in step b, above. d. Press Enter. The utility will report the following: Updating card 0 ....OK. e. Remove the FastTrak BIOS Utility Disk and reboot your system. This completes the BIOS upgrade procedure.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
