RL100ATX 10/100Base PCI Fast Ethernet adapter RESET.EXE utility =============================================================== The Reset utility is a bootrom utility for resetting the adapter's bootrom setup to factory default so that user can reselect a new boot option. In factory default, the following message will diaplay when computer is first power ON. After resetting the adapter, on rebooting the PC the message will display, Boot option: No option is defined. First Installation. Select a permanent boot option: 1. Boot permanently from harddisk, 2. Boot permanently from network. What each option do: -------------------- When option (1) is selected, the PC will always boot from local harddisk. When option (2) is selected, the PC will attempt to boot from the network server first. If the server could not be found, after 10 retries it will switch to boot from the local harddisk. If no local harddisk is present, it will go back to boot from the network again. What ever the selection, floppy disk has the hightest priority. If the a bootable diskette is inserted, it will boot straightaway from the floppy. Options you can change when network boot option is active. ---------------------------------------------------------- The RL100ATX bootrom supportes remote booting from the following servers, a) Novell NetWare (v3.xx to v4.xx) b) LAN Manager c) Windows NT v3.5x, v4.0 d) IBM LAN server By default the boot protocol is to boot from NetWare server. The boot protocol can be change when the message "Configuring..." appears. Immediately press the CTRL-ENTER key. A menu will be display. 1. NetWare Server 2. WINNT/ LAN Manager 3. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
