ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
1) DOS and OS/2 NDIS v2.01 device driver
RL100A.DOS and RL100A.OS2
The NDIS drivers for OS/2 and DOS were written to and tested with
the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS)
Version 2.0.1.
** IMPORTANT:
==========
If you loading EMM386.EXE v4.49 ensure to exclude memory range D000-DFFF
e.g. add this statement in Config.sys,
Device=C:\DOS622\EMM386.EXE noems x=d000-dfff

³ INSTALLATION GUIDE ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
1) LAN Manager 2.0
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ
a) Start the SETUP program.
b) Choose "Actions" from the top manual bar.
c) Choose "Import network drivers" to load the driver.
Insert the driver diskette into a drive and enter correct
source drive letter. Then SETUP will create the appropriate
directory and transfer the driver from the diskette.
After this step, the driver is loaded. If you want to change the
existing driver, then you should go through the following steps:
d) Choose "View/Modify" from the top manual bar.
e) Press [ENTER] until you find the "Network Drivers"
manual. In this manual, you will find the existing
network driver configuration and all network adapters and
protocols which it supports.
f) Remove the existing configuration by choosing
"Remove".
g) Select "Compex RL100ATX 10/100Base-TX PCI Ethernet Adapter" in the
"Network adapter card" box and choose the appropriate protocol
layer in the "Protocol" box.
h) Choose "Add Driver" to add a hardware driver and "Add
Protocol" to add a protocol driver to the "Network
Configuration" box.
i) Then choose "Done" to exit to the main manual.
j) Before exiting the SETUP program, choose "Save" from the
"Actions" box to update the changes you have made.
2) LAN Manager 2.1/2.2
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ
The setup procedures for LAN Manager 2.1 is similar to LAN
Manager 2.0. Follow the procedure listed below to perform your
installation.
a) Start the SETUP program.
b) Choose "Configuration" from the top manual bar.
c) Choose "Network Drivers" to enter to the "Workstation
Configuration" box.
d) Choose "Add New Config" to check the existing network
adapter drivers.
e) Select "Other Driver" to import the driver from the
diskette.
Insert the driver diskette into a drive and enter correct
source drive letter. Then SETUP will create the appropriate
directory and transfer the driver from the diskette.
Parameters supported:
"*" indicate default value
SELECTEDID =
This parameter is necessary when your system is equipped with multiple
RL100ATX cards. For each driver, you must assign a unique physical address.
The value of this parameter is a hexadecimal string of 12 digits quoted by
a pair of single quotation marks (').
e.g.
SELECTEDID = '008048d60000'
LineSpeed =
This adapter can be operated in 10 or 100 Mbps.
Valid values: 0 * (auto detect line speed),
10 (10Mbps connection)
100 (100Mbps connection)
e.g.
LineSpeed = 100
FullDuplex = "AUTO"
This adapter can be in full or half duplex mode.
VAlid values : "AUTO" * (auto detect full duplex function),
"DISABLE" (disable full duplex),
"ENABLE" (enable full duplex).
** Note: The word "AUTO", "DISABLE" and "ENABLE" must be in uppercase
This is case sensitive issue when use in remote boot configuration
from an NT server can cause boot failure.
e.g. to forced 100Mbps half-duplex conection
LineSpeed = 100
FullDuplex = "DISABLE"
** Note: Adjusting these parameter below can cause unpredictable result.
In certain cases can cause the system to hang.
CacheAlign =
Cache Alignmane defines the address boundary for data burst.
Valid values: 1 (8 longword alignmet),
2 (16 longword alignment)
3 * (32 longword alignment).
e.g.
CacheAlign = 3
Burst =
Burst Length defines the maximum number of long words that can be
transferred within one PCI burst transaction.
Valid values: 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, *32
e.g.
Burst = 32
TxThreshold =
This value decides the transmit threshold level of the transmit FIFO.
Transmission will starts immediately after the transmit FIFO has reached
the threshold level or full pkt has been transferred to the transmit FIFO
if the frame length is less than the transmit threshold level.
TxThreshold Transmit Threshold Level
00H * full pkt
01H 16 bytes
02H 32 bytes
-- --
7FH 2032 bytes"
Valid value: 00h,01h,02h,....7FH
e.g.
TxThreshold = 00
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
