³ INSTALLATION GUIDE ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
To install the Compex RL2000 PCI NDIS 2.01 driver, follow
 the instructions below:

Installation Procedure for installing IBM DOS Requester
 =======================================================

Please note that the installation procedure described below is based on the
IBM LAN Support Program ver 1.35. For the other versions of IBM LAN Support
Program, please refer to its "Installation Guide" for the details.

 1. Install DOS NDIS 2.01 driver via "LAN Support Program" (LSP).

     a) Insert "IBM OS/2 LAN Server LAN Requesters LAN Support Program Install"
diskette into your floppy disk drive (eg. drive A:) and
type 'DXMAID <enter>' to start the installation process.

     b) Follow the instruction on the screen and answer all the questions
appropriately. Please note that you have to answer 'Yes' to the question
"Do you have driver diskettes?" so that the installation will copy the
        driver from the Driver Disk.

     c) When "Process Driver Diskette" window pops up and ask you the drive and
directory where DOS NDIS files reside, insert your Driver Disk to
        drive A: and type:

        A:\IBMLS\DOS <enter>

     d) The message on the screen should tell you the driver diskette files has
been processed and you should press <enter> key to continue now.

     Note:

While you're running installation program, it will ask you if you want it
to update the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT for you. It is highly recommended
that you always let it do that for you. If you use MS-DOS 6.0 or later
and has multiple configuration blocks in your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT,
you should temporarily disable it and leave a clean CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT for installation program to modify. Later on, you can
incorporate the changes made by the installation program into your multiple
     configuration CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT.

 2. Install IBM DOS Requester program.

Follow the instructions on the screen and refer to your IBM LAN Server
DOS Requester Installation Guide if necessary to complete the rest of
IBM LAN Server DOS Requester installation procedure.

 3. Reboot the computer.

All the changes made to your computer will not take effect until you
     reboot the computer.

 PROTOCOL.INI Parameter Definitions
 ==================================

Below is an explanation of each PROTOCOL.INI parameter for the Compex
 RL2000 PCI Ethernet Adapter.

The only parameter that must be present is the "DRIVERNAME".

 DRIVERNAME
      range:RL2000$

Identifies the adapter driver. Use a unique value from the range
indicated for each Compex adapter installed in your computer. If you
have two Compex LAN Cards installed, you would use RL2000$ for the first one,
   and RL20002$ for the second.
