1. O v e r v i e w

This README.TXT contains instructions to install and configure the MS-Win95
driver and MediaRack applet for the AD1815 Sound Card.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. S y s t e m R e q u i r e m e n t s

  - 80486 PC-AT compatible or faster machine.
  - 8 MB DRAM or greater.
  - 1 free 16-bit ISA-bus expansion slot.
  - 400 KB free hard disk space for minimum software installation.
  - Microsoft Windows95

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. D r i v e r I n s t a l l a t i o n

1. Start the computer with MS-Win95. From the Device Manager,
remove all previously installed sound card drivers. Make sure that all
references to these drivers are removed from the C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM
    directory.

2. Switch off the computer and remove all other sound cards.

3. Insert the AD1815 sound card firmly in an available ISA bus
expansion slot and close the computer.

4. Reboot or restart the computer. As MS-Win95 restarts,
you may see a window explaining that it is "Building
   Driver information database".

3. A window will show "New Hardware Found", and ask where the driver
   should be copied from. Select
"Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer", and
"OK". When it asks "Install From Disk", select "A:\WIN95" and
   "OK".

4. MS-Win95 will copy the driver and -.inf files onto the
hard disk. Next, MS-Win95 will find the MPU-401 controller
and gameport/joystick logical devices one after the other. For
each logical device, an installation window will appear, which
   either says:

"Windows has found new hardware and is installing the software for it"

or asks whether to use the Windows Default driver (select yes
   in this case)

5. You will be able to tell that the driver is installed because a speaker
horn symbol will show up on the task bar adjacent to the time. Next
you will be able to play sounds using the "Sounds" item on the Control
Panel. Also, in the Device Manager the RedCoral Sound System
driver should show up under "Sound, video and game controllers" item.

   and click on OK.

3. Follow the instruction appearing next. If the intention was to remove
the sound card from the PC, shut down MS-Win95 and turn off the PC.
Open it up and remove the sound card. Next, close the PC, and turn on the
power again. If the intention was to re-install the driver, just restart
MS-Win95, and follow the installation instructions under Section 5.
