To upgrade the S2500n Base code firmware:
1. Make sure the printer is in the Ready state, i.e. the “Ready/Data” light is on solid.
2. Go to the Printer’s Embedded Web Server by opening a web browser and entering the IP address of the printer into the address field, then click “GO”
3. Once the embedded web page has displayed, click the “Configuration” link on the left frame of the web page. The Configuration Page will be displayed.
4. Scroll to the “Other” (or, “Other Features”) section near the bottom of the page and click the “Update Print Server Firmware” link.
5. On the Update Print Server Firmware page, click the “Browse” button to open the “Browse for File” window. Browse to the location where the files were saved (i.e.; C:\S2500-FW) and select the file updpage_224_007.flm, then click the “Open” button.
6. On the Update Print Server Firmware page, verify the “File Name:” entry contains the file updpage_224_007.flm, then click the “Flash” button. The “Status” changes from “Idle” to “xx% Sent”. While the firmware is uploading to the printer, the “Ready/Data”, “Toner Low”, and “Load/Remove Paper” lights will be on solid while this is occurring.
7. Once 100% of the file has been sent to the printer, the firmware in the printer will be updated. The lights on the control panel will cycle while this is occurring. DO NOT POWER OFF THE PRINTER WHILE THIS IS OCCURING.
8. The printer will automatically perform a power on reset when the firmware has successfully updated. This normally takes about 60 seconds.
