       Install LAN Adapter Driver for the NetWare Server 4.XX


    . Start the Novell Server.

    . After booting up, execute "LOAD INSTALL" command

    . Select "Driver Option".

    . Select "Configure network drivers".

    . Select "Select a driver".

    . Press the Ins key to install an unlisted driver.

    . Press F3 to specify a path where GFC2204.LAN resides.

    . Select "GFC2204.LAN" and then copy the GFC2204.LAN file.

    . Set the adapter parameters, then select "Save parameters
      and load driver".


    . Medium parameters for GFC2204.LAN

       Load GFC2204.LAN NWAY
          --> Use Auto-Negociation to detect media.

       Load GFC2204.LAN TP LINE_SPEED=10
          --> Assign GFC2204 to work on TP HALF 10M media.

       Load GFC2204.LAN TP LINE_SPEED=100
          --> Assign GFC2204 to work on TP HALF 100M media.

       Load GFC2204.LAN TP_FULL_DUPLEX LINE_SPEED=10
          --> Assign GFC2204 to work on TP FULL 10M media.

       Load GFC2204.LAN TP_FULL_DUPLEX LINE_SPEED=100
          --> Assign GFC2204 to work on TP FULL 100M media.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
