This file details the installation procedure for configuring the Ethernet
PCMCIA card in Windows NT. The procedures are different for the
different Versions of NT. Be sure to follow the correct method.

* NT Version 3.51 *

* How to install the PCMCIA software supplied with NT 3.51:
=========================================================
(1) Open the Control Panel, and choose Network Setup.
(2) Click the Add Adapter button.
(3) Select <Other> Requires disk from manufacturer.
(4) Type in the Path A:\WINNT351
(5) Select the "PCM200 Ethernet LAN Card".
(6) Set the IRQ level and I/O Port Address to any free resources,
Valid IRQ's = 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15.
Valid I/O's = 300, 320, 340 & 360.
(7) Select Bus Type as "PCMCIA".
(8) Leave the Bus Number selected at 0.
(9) Click on OK and Restart the Machine.

1. How to connect to Windows NT 3.51 server from Windows NT 3.51 Workstation?
To see available network drive, click "Window" from "Program
Manager", select "Main", double-click "File Manager", click
"Disk", and click "Connect Network Drive...", a dialog box
appears showing available networks under "Shared Directories".
If you can't see any shared directories, it is very likely that
Windows NT server has not opened any of its directories to be
shared by others yet. To open its directories to be shared by
others, the Windows NT server operator must do the following.
(1) click "Window" from "Program Manager"
(2) select "Main", double-click "File Manager"
(3) click "Disk", and select "Share as..."
(4) click "OK"
On the other hand, if NT workstation users want to open their
directories to be shared by others, similar actions must be taken,
with an additional work of starting the workstations' "server"
service. To start the "server" service on an NT workstation,
do the following.
(1) click "Window" from "Program Manager"
(2) select "Main", double-click "Control Panel"
(3) double-click "Services", select "Server", click "Start"
(4) the "Status" field will show "Started" if succeeded
2. How to connect to Windows 95 from Windows NT 3.51 Workstation?

Similar actions are taken to connect to Windows 95.
3. How to connect to Netware 3.x/4.x server from Windows NT 3.51 Workstation?
Your Windows NT 3.51 workstation can connect to Netware
servers by adding "Client service for Netware" software to the
system. To add "Client service for Netware" to the system, go
through the following steps.
(1) click "Network" from "Control Panel", click "Add Software"
(2) select "Client Service for Netware", click "Continue"
(3) it starts copying file from your NT workstation install diskettes
or CD-ROM
(4) when it is done, click "OK", and NT will setup itself
(5) reboot PC (make sure network cable is properly connected)
(6) To see available network drive, click "Window" from "Program
Manager", select "Main", double-click "File Manager", click
"Disk", and click "Connect Network Drive...", a dialog box
appears showing available Netware server names under
"Shared Directories"
* Troubleshooting:
================
1. If the PCMCIA NE2000 compatible is not working properly, it is
probably because IRQ or I/O Port conflicts with other adaptors.
To change IRQ or I/O Port, go through the following procedure:
(1) click "Network" from "Control Panel""
(2) double-click "PCM200 PCMCIA card"
(3) change IRQ Level and I/O Port Address, click "OK"
(4) click "OK" from Network Settings dialog box
(5) restart computer to let it take effect

* How to install the PCMCIA software supplied with NT 4.0:
========================================================
(1) Open the Control Panel, and choose "Network" Setup.
(2) Click "Adapters" and click the "Add" button.
(3) Insert Windows NT 4.0 CD-ROM or diskettes
(4) Select "NOVELL NE2000 Compatible Adapter", click OK
(5) Set the IRQ level and I/O Port Address to any free resources,
Valid IRQ's = 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 15.
Valid I/O's = 300, 320, 340 & 360.
(6) Select Bus Type as "PCMCIA".
(7) Leave the Bus Number selected at 0, and click OK.
(8) It needs to copy files from Windows NT CD-ROM. So You must
enter path name which is usually D:\i386 for Intel systems
if D is your CD-ROM drive.
(9) Click "Close". Enter IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway,
Primary WINS Server address, DNS Host Name, Domain name, and
click "OK"(If you don't know IP Address..., consult your
Network Administrator.)
(10) Click "Yes" to restart the machine.

1. How to connect to Netware 3.x/4.x server from Windows NT 4.0 Workstation?
Your Windows NT 4.0 workstation can connect to Netware servers
by adding "Client service for Netware" software to the system.
To add "Client service for Netware" to the system, go through
the following steps.
(1) click "Network" from "Control Panel", click "Services"
(2) select "Client Service for Netware", click "OK"
(3) it starts copying file from your NT workstation CD-ROM or
diskettes
(4) when it is done, click "OK", and NT will setup itself

(6) To see available network drive, click "Network Neighborhood"
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
